Searching for the ultimate vessel in which he could sail shorthanded around the world, a gentleman approached Ancasta’s Palma office in Majorca and told us of his desire to pursue his dream in a classic world cruising yacht. After considering up to three different European boat yards, our Spanish client set his heart upon Fairlie’s outstanding craftsmanship and has now commissioned the design and build of a brand new Fairlie 53.
The Fairlie 53 is to be a one off, custom design which will take a year in production and is due to be launched in August 2013.
Its dimensions are:
Length – 16.3m / 53 ft
Beam – 3.95m / 13 ft
Draught – 2.6m / 8.5 ft
Displacement - 13,500kg / 29,700 lbs
We’ll keep you posted as this exciting new project unfolds.
